Betty Jo Minyard
Betty Jo Minyard, 73, of Senath, Mo., formerly of Blytheville, passed away Friday, Nov. 27, 2020, at her home.
Born to Jim and Doris Pope Nye in Kennett, Mo., Betty was a homemaker and a member of Bethany Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting and reading her Bible. Betty loved her family and taking care of her children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Minyard; mother, Doris; and sister, Peggy Shamburger.
Betty leaves two children, Bobby Johnson and his wife Leigh Ann of Vancleave, Miss., Leann Jones and her husband Joel of Senath, Mo., and a stepson, Phillip Meador and his wife Kayla of Caruthersville, Mo.; father, Jim Nye of Jacksonville; four sisters, Susan Logan of San Antonio, Texas, Harvenia Grimsley of Panama City, Fla., Marion Wagner of Creston, Iowa, and Jamie Hutchins of Benton; five grandchildren, Justin Jones and his wife Cecia, Logan Jones and his wife Allyson, Natalie McKittrick, Aubrey Dormer and Paisley Meador; and two great-grandchildren, Genesis and Axel Jones.
Graveside services will be held Friday, Dec. 4, at 2 p.m. in Elmwood Cemetery with Bobby Burgett officiating. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project.
