Charles Elton Harris
Charles Elton Harris, 83, of Payneway, departed this life Nov. 24, 2020, in Payneway. He was born on May 11, 1937, to Elton and Eva Mae Kirby Harris. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Trumann. He worked as a parts manager at Massey Ferguson, served in the National Guard and was a Mason. Charles was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Nathan Jack Harris.
Charles is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara Kent Harris of the home; one daughter, Annette Wray (Eddie) of Payneway; three brothers, Ed Harris and Paul Harris of Mountain View and Bobby Harris of Marked Tree; two sisters, Dianne Vinson and Ruth Harris both of Mountain View; four grandchildren, Ashley Ferris (Doug) of Pasco, Wash., James Wray (Natalie) of Jonesboro, Jamie Wray of Payneway and Stephen Wray of Marked Tree; seven great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was Dec. 1 at Marked Tree Cemetery in Marked Tree with Brother Ricky Dobbins officiating. Serving as pallbearers were James Wray, Doug Ferris, Lance Bonds, Danny Mitchuson, Craig Harris and Kacey Harris. Due to COVID-19 social distancing and masks were required at all times. Everyone who attended was required to sign the Arkansas Department of Health contact tracing sheet. Thank you for your cooperation in helping to maintain safety while offering condolences to the family.
