Aubrey Austin Travis

Aubrey Austin Travis of Trumann departed this life Sunday, Nov. 22, 2020, at Lakeside Nursing Center in Lake City at the age of 85 years, 3 months and 29 days. Aubrey was born Thursday, July 25, 1935, in Strawberry. He lived the majority of his life in and around northeast and central Arkansas. He loved to travel, especially in Mexico, Central America and South America. He enjoyed gardening, walking and riding his motorcycle and bicycle distances at a time. He was a very talented woodworking craftsman who produced several beautiful cabinets and shelves for family members and friends. He leaves behind eight nieces and nephews, along with all of their children in six different states. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Theo Austin. Sr.; his mother, Florine (Wilson) Austin, and his brother, Theo Austin, Jr.

He is survived by his only sister, Mary Helen (Austin) Cole and her husband Dennis Cole of Wasilla, Alaska; as well as one sister-in-law, Shelia Austin of Trumann.

No services are planned at this time. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled later, after the COVID-19 pandemic has ceased. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Arkansas State Troopers.
