Blytheville police have arrested a second suspect in the recent rash of robberies.
“The Blytheville Police Department has been investigating a series of robberies that have occurred within the city over the past few weeks,” Capt. John Frazier said. “On Wednesday, officers of the Blytheville Police Department arrested a 17-year-old for robbery, the second teen arrested for robbery in the past few days. Both teens are being charged as adults. On November 17, 2020, the first teen was charged with robbery and received a $150,000 cash bond. The second teen is set to be arraigned by the Mississippi County District Court in Blytheville on November 19, 2020.”
“Patrol Officers working together with Detective Simpkins and Detective Purrington of the Blytheville PD Criminal Investigations Division, have assembled significant case files against the two. We thank Blytheville Crime Stoppers, the citizens and business owners for working with the Police Department to help apprehend these individuals.”
Dollar General on North Sixth Street, Kream Kastle on North Division (twice), KFC on Sixth Street, and Family Dollar on West Main were all victims of armed robberies in a five-day period. For Kream Kastle, it was the third robbery in three weeks.
