Mary “Molly” Davis
Mary “Molly” Davis of Jonesboro passed away Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2020, at St. Elizabeth’s Place at the age of 98 years, 8 months and 4 days. She was born Tuesday, March 7, 1922, in Pocahontas to Fred, Sr. and Edith Smith Douglas. She was a bookkeeper for Pepsi Cola in Jonesboro until she retired. Molly graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1939. She was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church for about 74 years. Molly was a 50 plus year member to Olive Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. She was the last surviving member of the Couples Club card playing club. Molly was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Fred Douglas, Jr., her husband Marion “Buck” Davis and a son, Harold C. Treadway, Jr. and his wife Vickie.
Molly is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Dan) Worthington of Jonesboro; a son, Doug Davis of Jonesboro; eight grandchildren, Lonnie Robinson, Mark Cornish, Phillip Cornish, John Cornish, Stephen Cornish, Douglas Davis, Jeremiah Davis and Blake Davis; 21 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were Nov. 16 at Oaklawn Cemetery with Brother Jerry Parker and her grandson, Blake Davis officiating. Burial followed the service. In compliance with COVID-19 restrictions, social distancing and masks were required along with the signing of a COVID-19 form. Memorials may be considered to Walnut Street Baptist Church, 1910 Scenic Dr., Jonesboro, Ark. 72401 for the building fund or mission fund.
