Harvey Lee Ashmore, Sr.
Harvey Lee Ashmore, Sr., 89, passed away Sunday, Nov. 8, 2020, at his home in Jonesboro. He was born Feb. 17, 1931, in Holland, Mo., to John William and Lee Annie Roberts Ashmore. He was of the Pentecostal faith. He loved watching football, spending time with family and enjoyed watching his grandkids and great-grandkids grow up, they were his pride and joy.
He served his country in the United States Army, received four medals: National Defense Service, Korean Service, United Nation Service, and Good Conduct, he was 29th Engineering Division in the Korean War.
Survivors include one daughter, Donna Renfro (Raymond) of Jonesboro; one sister, Elender Morrison of Cabot; four grandchildren, Raeann Chadwick (Aaron) of Jonesboro, Josh Renfro (Ashley) of Hendersonville, Tenn., Brandi Carter (Quinton) and Holly Renfro; five great- grandchildren, Kellin Renfro, Kenzli Ford, Teegan Chadwick, Landon Chadwick, Aiden Carter, and one on the way, Vanessa Renfro; and a host of other family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Sue Ashmore; one son, Harvey Ashmore, Jr.; three brothers, Teddy, Hollis and Charlie Ashmore.
The family has requested a private disposition under the direction of Faith Funeral Service, Manila.
