Bishop Gerald Mitchell Sr.

Bishop Gerald Mitchell Sr. was born Oct. 25, 1965 in Blytheville, to Willie B. Burdin and Imogene Swift. He departed this life Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2020, at NEA Hospital in Jonesboro at the age of 54. He was preceded in death by his father.

Gerald leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Jessie Wright Mitchell, of Blytheville; his mother, Imogene Swift; seven daughters, Tangela Mitchell Dickerson and Shatia Mitchell, both of Little Rock, Wakonda Cox and Ashley Bryant, both of Jonesboro, Shondra Wright of Brookland, Conneshia Bryant of West Memphis, and Victoria Lakes of Houston, Texas; seven sons, Gerald Mitchell Jr. and D’Angelos Dickerson, both of Little Rock, Jordan Mitchell of Jonesboro, Tyler Mitchell of Phoenix, Ariz., Joseph Wright and Pastor Percy Wright, both of Blytheville, and Joshua Wright of Brookland; one sister, Stacie Madkins of Blytheville; a host of other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held from 10-11:55 a.m. Monday, Aug. 10, at True Light M.B. Church, Blytheville. Service will follow at 12:00 (noon). Burial will follow at Memory Garden.

In compliance with the CDC, the Governor and Arkansas Funeral Directors Associations, due to the COVID-19, face masks are required to be worn and practice social distance.
