Evelyn Diane Wheeler
Evelyn Diane Wheeler, of Blytheville, was born July 10, 1954, to Gene Tramble, Sr. and Mildred Tramble of Blytheville. Evelyn attended Harrison High School. She attended Mississippi County Community College and received an Associate of Arts Degree in General Studies in 1992.
Evelyn had a deep passion for children which led her to become the owner and director of Wheeler’s Daycare for over 10 years. After closing the center, she redesigned the building and created Wheeler’s Banquet Hall for several years. Later she was employed by Blytheville Public School District and worked at Blytheville Primary School as a paraprofessional until her health began to fail.
Evelyn accepted Christ at an early age at Stephenson Temple in Blytheville. She later moved her church membership to First Missionary Baptist Church. While there she was an active and faithful member where she sang in the choir and was a Deaconess.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gene Tramble, Sr.; one granddaughter, Kellie Sarai Williams; four brothers, Kevin Tramble, Ricky Tramble, Anthony Tramble, Gene Tramble, Jr.; and a grandson, Clayton Wheeler. Evelyn departed this life on Friday, July 3, 2020 at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., at the age of 65.
She is survived by her loving husband, Clayton “T.C.” Wheeler of Blytheville; her mother, Mildred Tramble of Little Rock ; two sons, Corey Wheeler, Sr. (Jennifer) of Blytheville and Bryan Wheeler (LaTandra) of Kansas City, Mo.; two daughters, Tonya Wheeler of Atlanta, Ga., and Marcie Woods (Ontario) of Olive Branch, Miss.; two brothers, Jerome Tramble (Kathy) of Little Rock and Kendall Tramble (Sharon) of Jacksonville; two sisters, Bonita Honorable of Gosnell and Constance Tramble Hollis (Tony) of Little Rock. Evelyn is also survived by 13 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and host of other relatives.
A walk-through visitation will be held Friday, July 10, at First Missionary Baptist Church from 5-7 p.m.
Funeral services for Mrs. Wheeler will be conducted Saturday, July 11, at 1 p.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church, 600 East McHaney. Reverend Odale Jones is the pastor and will deliver the eulogy with burial following at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
In accordance with the State of Arkansas COVID-19 guidelines, the practice social distancing of 6-feet will be observed. Face masks are REQUIRED to be worn by all family and friends attending the walk-through visitation and the funeral service.
