Carol Thornton

Carol Thornton, 87, of Marion and formerly of Blytheville, passed away Monday, June 15, 2020, at Willowbend Nursing Home in Marion.

Carol was born in Newport, Tenn., to William and Opal Williams Mantooth. She was retired from First National Bank in Blytheville and a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Carol loved to travel with her husband of 50 years, Bobby. She was member of the Blytheville Rose Society and enjoyed reading and working puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Thornton; her parents; one brother; and four sisters.

Carol leaves two children, Bobbie Louthian and Paul Louthian of Sherwood and Mickey D. Thornton and his wife Lynne of Marion; two grandchildren, Robert M. Thornton and his wife Collin Jo and Kevin Louthian; and two grandchildren, Emily Louthian and Payson Thornton.

Graveside services will be held Monday, June 22, at 11 a.m. at Dogwood Mausoleum with Rev. Mike Welch officiating. There will be no visitation. The family requests memorials be made to Trinity Baptist Church. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.cobbfuneralhome.com.
