Eleanor Puckett Fears
Eleanor Puckett Fears, 88, of Theodosia, Mo., formerly of Leachville and Paragould, passed from this life Wednesday, April 15, 2020, at the home of her daughter in Theodosia. Born in Swifton and raised in Leachville, she was a 1949 graduate of Leachville High School and had been a longtime Mississippi County librarian serving at the Leachville branch. She was of the Church of Christ faith and had worshiped with the Boynton congregation and the Newton Street congregation in Paragould. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lula Wilcox Puckett; her first husband and father of her children, Charles Blocker; and husbands Lester Mayfield and Billy Joe Fears; two brothers, Elmo Puckett and Ed Puckett; and one sister, Shirley Merritt.
She is survived by one son, Dennis Blocker (Sheila); two daughters, Karen Langston (James) Patti Scott; two stepdaughters, Alice Goehman and Brenda Johnson; two brothers, Nathan Puckett and Larry Joe Puckett; one sister, Geneva Wortham. She also leaves seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and her very special friend who has been like a father to her children, Jesse Doughty.
