Danny Lee Adams
Danny Lee Adams, 70, was born Feb. 4, 1950, in West Ridge. His parents were Troy and Mildred Adams. He left this world to be with his Savior on Thursday, April 9, 2020, at St. Bernards Medical Center.
Danny was a 1969 graduate of Marked Tree High School. He had a love for Marked Tree and the people in it. One of his favorite things was spending Friday nights at the football field, as a player or as a fan. He loved everything, from the Tailgate Team to the Chain Gang. “Once an Indian, always an Indian.” He was cofounder of the Teddy Tally Scholarship Fund, honoring Teddy and helping a high school senior at the same time. In 2008, he helped bring the Wall That Heals to Marked Tree along with many veterans from Vietnam. With his help, Marked Tree became the welcome home they never received. His all-time favorite activity, other than watching the Hogs, was putting on his red suit and being Santa’s helper every Christmas. It brought him so much joy to make children smile and pass along their Christmas wishes to the Real Santa. Danny was a believer in Jesus and was a member Corners Chapel Baptist Church in Payneway. With Danny it was never goodbye, it was see ya.
He is survived by the greatest love of his life, his daughter, Clara Barnes, and three granddogs. Other survivors include former wife, Barbara Adams; three brothers, Dennis, Mike and Glynn and their wives. He has a host of other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Gale and Troy Jr.
Services are private and under the direction of Gregg-Weston Funeral Home of Harrisburg. Personal condolences may be made to the Adams family at www.greggwestonfh.com.
