Vernon Lee Bills “Tootsie”
Vernon Lee Bills “Tootsie” was born Feb. 28, 1951, in Pine Bluff to the late Henry Bills, Sr. and the late Ola Mae Charles Bills. He was a worker for the city of Blytheville and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Bills passed away on April 2, 2020, at the age of 69. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Bills, Sr., his mother, Ola Mae Charles Bills, and one brother, Isaac Webb.
He is survived by his fiance, Berry Rogers of Blytheville; one son, Derrick Rose of Tulsa, Okla.; two daughters, Dana Rene Redricks of Paragould and Tennile Dozier of Texas; two brothers, Henry Bills and Clester Bills, both of Blytheville; four sisters, Chris Young of Columbus, Mo., Bernice (Rev. Lonzell) Mathis of Blytheville, Janice Hills (B.J.) of St. Louis, Mo., and Angela (Ezell) Rogers of Blytheville; and five grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 11, at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Blytheville with Rev. Lonzell Mathis officiating. Services are provided by Wilson Funeral Home Blytheville. In compliance with the CDC, the Governor and the Arkansas Funeral Director Association, due to the COVID-19 virus , all public gatherings of more than 10 people held indoors are prohibited. Visitation and funerals will be held for immediate family members only. This directive is enforceable by Law. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
