Board member Danny Quearry motioned to give the classified employees the 2.5 percent bonus, which was seconded by board member Greg McGuirt.
Johnson then made the motion to abide by the minimum wage law, which will go into effect on January 1, 2021. Ketchum seconded.
After the meeting was adjourned Johnson stated he appreciated what the school was doing during this time of providing meals.
“Thank you for what all you guys are doing. Y’all are doing very well. I love the meals and the fact that feeding near 700 kids in a day, that’s incredible,” Johnson explained. “I really think it brings the community closer.”
Quearry also commended the school on giving to non- Gosnell school kids meals as the school is giving food to children ages 0-18.
Superintendent Bonard Mace stated the next time they meet, the agenda may be long as they are trying to avoid meetings due to COVID-19.
