Manila scored early and often on their way to a 79-32 thrashing of Piggott in 3A-3 conference basketball action Tuesday night at Lion Gymnasium.

The Lions charged to a 21-7 first period lead before exploding for 31 second quarter points to grab a commanding 52-12 lead at the half. Manila held a 63-21 advantage after three periods of play.

Senior point guard Daley Belew led 10 Lion scorers with a game high 23-point performance. Austin Harmon netted 13, Jake Baltimore had 10 while Brayden Nunnally delivered nine points. Anthony Lopez and Coby Hollis chipped in six points apiece. Ty Wagner and Brian Gonzalez recorded four points each while Brayden Mattingly and Garrett Hart both scored two points. Manila hit one of three foul shots but knocked down 12 three pointers.

Cooper Harris topped the Mohawks with 10 points. Piggott canned three of five free throws and sank three treys.

In the junior high game, Manila roared past Piggott 63-36. C.J. Carruth led the way for the Lions with 18 points while Costner Smith scored 13. Luke Beach tallied nine, Dylan Riley had eight, Rex Farmer delivered six while Luke Kirk netted five. Bri Neal and Felipe Lozano added two points apiece. Nate Brantley topped the Mohakws with 14 points.
