JONESBORO—The Armorel Lady Tigers (7-9) fell behind early and were never able to come back as they fell Friday morning in their NEA Tournament semifinal matchup with the ICC Lady Cougars, 51-35. ICC jumped out to a 17-10 lead in the first quarter and outscored the Lady Tigers 11-10 in the second quarter to lead 28-20 at the half. The Lady Cougars poured the scoring on in the third quarter as they put the game out of reach and led 42-28 heading into the final quarter...

JONESBORO—The Armorel Lady Tigers (7-9) fell behind early and were never able to come back as they fell Friday morning in their NEA Tournament semifinal matchup with the ICC Lady Cougars, 51-35. ICC jumped out to a 17-10 lead in the first quarter and outscored the Lady Tigers 11-10 in the second quarter to lead 28-20 at the half. The Lady Cougars poured the scoring on in the third quarter as they put the game out of reach and led 42-28 heading into the final quarter.

AHS had three players put points on the board in the loss to the Lady Cougars with sophomore forward Abby Simmons leading the way with 14 points. Junior guard Mayson Carr chipped in 12 points and senior guard Briley Miller added nin points.

The Lady Tigers hit 15 of 21 from the charity stripe.

First year head coach Wes Sanders, however, did add to his record as a young coach as he picked up his first win in the NEA Invitational. The Lady Tigers won their first game in the tournament since Joey Carr coached the Lady Tigers during the 2010-2011 season, with their 47-39 victory over the Bay Lady Yellowjackets in the opening round of the NEA last Friday.
