CAMPBELL— The Armorel Tigers (3-14) lost sophomore forward Jayce Fondren early Thursday night as he dislocated his kneecap again after having the same injury last season against the same opponent the Tigers played Thursday, the Delta C-7 Chargers. The Tigers, however, went on to defeat the Chargers 72-59. The Tigers jumped out to a 15- 14 lead in the first quarter but the Chargers tied the game at the half at 28.

Tigers junior guard Hunter Holland came out of the half on fire as he had 16 of his 18 points in the third quarter including four three-pointers.

AHS lead 49-46 heading into the final quarter.

The fourth quarter the Tigers seniors stepped up as guard Quinn Crosskno and big man CJ Simmons scored 10 points apiece.

Armorel outscored the Chargers 23-13 in the fourth quarter to win 72-59.

The Tigers were led by Crosskno with a game-high 24 points. Crosskno hit five three-pointers and went 100 percent from the charity stripe.

Holland and Simmons both chipped in 18-points, apiece, and senior guard Michael Peterson finished with nine-points.

Fondren’s injury will sideline him for up to four weeks.
