ARMOREL— The Armorel School Board held their monthly meeting Monday night where they were informed of upcoming events around the district.

The board also heard from third grader Kooper Lindsey who won the 2019 Armorel Elementary Spelling Bee and will compete in the County Spelling Bee on Jan. 14 at 10 a.m. at Arkansas Northeastern College.

Second and third place winners were Alexandra Femera and Marleigh Crawford, respectively.

Elementary principal Joey Carr stated the spelling bee had 20 contestants from third-sixth grade.

Lindsey won the spelling bee by spelling the word, “multiplication”.

Carr also added that the elementary Christmas program will be Wednesday, Dec. 18, and Thursday, Dec. 19, at 1:00 p.m.

The last day of the semester is Friday, Dec. 20.

The board voted unanimously to hold board elections in May.
