Marybeth Byrd of Armorel continued to take Hollywood by storm Tuesday night, knocking off fellow Team Legend member Preston C. Howell in the Knockout Round of The Voice.

Byrd wowed the audience with her version of Adele’s “All I Ask,” while Howell sang “Just the Way You Look Tonight.”

Legend said, “Marybeth, you are just an exceptionally gifted vocalist. Your tone is really lovely to listen to. This is a difficult decision for me.”

Legend chose an emotional Byrd who now moves on to the live round next week.

“I just felt like going into the playoffs, she can show off what a great vocalist she is,” Legend said.

Gwen Stefani was also impressed with Byrd’s performance.

“I heard things in your voice that I didn’t recognize,” Stefani said. “I think your style is coming out a little bit and I like that. I thought you did a great job. I really did.”

Kelly Clarkson said both Byrd and Howell did really well.

“That Adele song is a really hard song to sing,” Clarkson said. “I’m going to be honest with you, Marybeth. I’ve never heard that kind of power from you yet, so you’re sneaky and I like it. That is very smart.”

Blake Shelton added, “it took a lot of nerve” for Byrd to perform an Adele song. “I like when somebody swings for the fence, and I thought you did a great job,” Shelton said.

Along with Legend, Byrd had some coaching from one of the biggest names in music: Taylor Swift.

“Marybeth has a beautiful voice,” Swift said on the show. “She’s got great presence; she’s got a great way of communicating.”
