Jill Ann Tilley
Jill Ann Tilley, 75, of Monette, passed away Friday, Oct. 25, 2019 at NEA Baptist Hospital. She was born March 21, 1944 in Guian, Ala., the daughter of William Otis Smith and Ruth Marie Ball Smith. Jill was a homemaker who loved to read and sew. She had worked as a hairdresser for many years and had worked at Arkansas State University for nine years. She loved to help care for the elderly. She was a member of the Monette First Baptist Church. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Royal Tilley; two daughters, Lisa Tilley Taylor of Caraway and Kara Tilley Bates of Jonesboro; six grandchildren, Lauren Nelson (Hunter), Weston Taylor, Landon Box, Amber Bates, Kyla Bates and Christina Bates.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two granddaughters, Caroline Taylor and Kelsey Tilley; three brothers, Jack Smith, Billy Roberts, Guy Roberts; and two sisters, Earline Roberts and Dorothy Roberts.
A celebration of her life will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, at Gregg Funeral Home with Rev. Rusty Bird and Robert Chambers officiating. Interment will follow at Caraway Cemetery.
The visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Franklin Smithee, Leroy Smithee, Jerry Bates, Hunter Nelson, Robert Chambers, Bruce Wright and David Webb and as honorary pallbearers, Weston Taylor and Landon Box.
