Henton launches re-election bid for District 7 JP seat

Mississippi County Quorum Court Justice of the Peace Jo Ann Henton announced that she will be seeking re-election to continue representing District 7.

Henton said that she will enter the race as a Democrat and will therefore take part in the party’s March primary.

Henton is a longtime resident and educator in the Blytheville area.

She taught 27 years in the Blytheville School System and has been retired for 25 years.

She is a member of the Mississippi County Retired School Personnel and a past member of the Blytheville Planning Commission.

“I am so thankful for the privilege to serve this county,” Justice Henton said. “Your input and opinions have helped me to do my job better because I work for you...always have and always will. I would appreciate the opportunity to continue to serve Mississippi County.”

“Although most of my duties are behind the scenes, I am working hard to learn the system and forge cooperative relationships with other justices, the county judge and staff. I feel that my past experiences on the Quorum Court is a positive asset in helping to plan for a better future for the county. I will continue to do my best to help everyone in our county. I am the District 7 representative but will not hesitate to help anyone because my motto is ‘seeking to serve everyone.’”
