On Friday, Aug. 16, 2019, Glenda Sue Gross, loving wife, mother of three children, and grandmother of four children, passed away at the age of 68 in Jacksonville, Fla., after a heart attack. Glenda was born March 27, 1951, in Blytheville, Ark., to Floyd and Gertrude (Martin) Ash.
Glenda was preceded in death by her father and mother; her son, Floyd; and six of her siblings, Roy, Troy, Willard, Alvin, Pat, and Alice.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; her children, Patrick and Patricia; her brother, Rick; her stepchildren, Frankie, Manny and Lena; her grandchildren, Emily, PJ, Evan, Ally, Dennis, Michael, Charlie and Jack; her son-in-law, Brian; her daughter-in-law, Janelle; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Glenda had a multi-faceted career, with a multitude of diverse jobs. Her jobs are what she did for a living, but what she lived for was her kids and grandkids. She is well known as the best maker of fried chicken and peanut butter cake, and was already ready with a hug and kind word for anyone who needed it.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 19, in Blytheville. Final details to be shared via Patrick Wittman’s Facebook page.
