Stockholders of Roach Conveyors were in Caraway Tuesday, touring the new plant located in the former Basler Electric Co. building and visiting with the new employees.
Roach Conveyors, a well-established manufacturing company, has been in Trumann since 1953 and now has opened a branch in Caraway.
The Caraway building, owned by the city, has been used as a storage building for the past several years. Residents are excited to have the jobs in Caraway.
Presently 13 employees are working in Caraway with Tim Reams serving as plant manager. All 13 employees are from Caraway.
Vice President Mike Roach said the company decided Caraway was a good place to locate and they looked for local employees, people who wanted to work close to home.
All of the employees are full time with all benefits.
Roach said they are excited about the Caraway plant and are pleased to be there.
The company strives to be good community partners.
“When we can, we try to use local businesses for the things we need,” Roach said.
One stockholder said she was impressed with how neat and organized the plant is.

Power flexible conveyors are manufactured in Caraway and the largest market is for Amazon.
Production is $1 million a month and they have a goal to be at $2 million in 12 months.
