East Poinsett County’s Meagan Allen fired a three hitter to lead the Lady Warriors to a 6-1 victory over Riverside in the quarterfinals of the 2A Regional softball tournament Friday afternoon at McCrory.

Allen limited the Lady Rebels to just three singles, all by Bailey Fisher, who drove in Riverside’s only run in the top of the first inning.

EPC tied the game with a run in the bottom of the first and took the lead for good when Bre Ward ripped a two-run double in the third.

The Lady Warriors tacked on three more runs in the sixth. Keragan Gordon and Jordyn Brewer belted RBI doubles while Emili Mangrum added a run-scoring single.

Allen truck out 15 Lady Rebels while walking just one, going the distance to earn the victory.

Katie Towery pitched six innings to take the loss for Riverside. Towery gave up six earned runs on 12 hits. Towery fanned seven and walked two.
