Mayfest is now just a few weeks away and is shaping up to be another great event for people of all ages. Festivities will begin on Thursday, May 9 with the Greater Blytheville Area Chamber of Commerce’s Front Porch Party at 4:30, and will end with Mayfest proper around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 11 with many fun events in between.

That Friday, things will begin that night at 6 p.m. with a free show of the Flying Wallendas, which will be held across from the Blytheville Main Street office (the Greyhound Bus Station).

Butts on Broadway will also be kicking of their activities that night and will have teams set up their cookers while the Lucky Brothers put on a performance. The beer garden, which was at the last Mayfest, will also be open on Friday night for those over 21 who wish to purchase beer.

Mayfest proper will begin that Saturday around 10 a.m. and vendors will line the street selling food and craft items to the public. The fire truck pull will raise funds for the Special Olympics. The Flying Wallendas will also have another free performance on Saturday. The beer garden will also be located in the pocket park on Saturday.
