Manila shut out Hoxie 14-0 in 3A-3 baseball action Tuesday at Lion Field. The Lions exploded for nine runs in the first inning. Manila tacked on four more in the third and added a single run in the fourth.
The Lions out-hit the Mustangs 7-2. Hoxie committed five errors. Michael Parker went the distance, throwing a two-hit shutout, striking out six and walking two.
Brock Birmingham had a huge day at the plate. The lefty swinging senior crushed a homerun, added three singles and delivered four RBI. Birmingham also scored twice.
Austin Harmon cracked a two-run single, Abraham Lopez clubbed an RBI double and scored three runs while Layne Sims singled and scored twice. Jeremiah Perez had an RBI and scored two runs. Ethan Navarro scored twice while Elijah Nichols and Kason Grissom both had an RBI and scored a run. Dustin Clark scored once.
