Buffalo Island Central scored 10 runs in the final two innings and went on to run rule Marked Tree 14-4 in senior boys baseball action Friday at Monette.
The Mustangs jumped on top 4-0 after three innings before the Indians pushed across a run in the top of the fourth. BIC answered, scoring four times in the bottom of the inning to move ahead 8-4. After Marked Tree plated four runs in the top of the fifth to slice the BIC lead in half, the Mustangs bounced back, exploding for six runs in the bottom of the frame, highlighted by a Caleb Suiter homerun.
BIC out-hit the Indians 15-5. The Mustangs took advantage of seven Marked Tree errors.
Suiter finished off a big day at the plate with three hits, five RBI and two runs scored. Alex Rangel singled twice, belted a double and matched Suiter’s five RBI day.
Rangel also scored a pair of runs. Brayden Carmichael slapped three singles and scored three runs while Kaleb Dublin singled, doubled and scored once. Conner McCord cracked a two-run single and scored three runs, Ayden Qualls laced an RBI single while Kyle Thrasher clubbed a double. Jameson Stone singled and scored a run while Franklin Patterson scored two runs.
Suiter pitched three and two thirds innings to pick up the victory.
Suiter allowed one earned run on two hits while fanning five and walking two. Dublin finished up, pitching an inning and a third, allowing three earned runs on three hits. Dublin struck out one and walked one
In girls softball action, Armorel run ruled BIC 11-1 Friday at Armorel.
