Davey Rainey, 31, of Blytheville faces several charges after a shooting in the 800 block of East Walnut on Friday.

Rainey is charged with terroristic act, resisting arrest, fleeing on foot, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a firearm by certain persons.

According to the court synopsis, Rainey came into the residence and started a verbal altercation with the victim, which escalated to a physical altercation.

“Witnesses stated Davey was getting into a silver Lincoln with a rag top when approximately three shots were fired,” the report said.

The front door of 816 East Walnut was damaged in the shooting.

“Officers were able to locate a vehicle that matched the description given by the caller in the 400 block of East Rose,” the report said. “The vehicle was unoccupied. The witness was able to go and identify that vehicle as the vehicle involved in the shooting. Officers had the vehicle towed to the Blytheville Police Department for further investigation.”

On Sunday, officers were dispatched to the 300 block of South Division for a disturbance, smelling marijuana and seeing two females and Rainey when they arrived, according to the court synopsis.

After confirming Rainey had felony warrants and speaking to him about the odor, police were given a clear baggy with what appeared to be marijuana inside it. Rainey told officers they could not search the room and he was escorted out.

“Other officers attempted to place restraints on Rainey for his felony warrant when he began to flee,” the report reads. “Officers were able to grab Rainey and escort him to the ground. Officers drive stunned Rainey, at which time he began to comply with all commands and was taken into custody. Officer Liles observed one of the females in the room with a firearm throwing it under the mattress trying to hide it. Officers located the firearm and she made the statement it was Rainey’s but she did not want him to get into trouble.”
