Armorel Tigers 4, BIC Mustangs 1
ARMOREL— The Armorel Tigers finally had not only a healthy day on the field but also gained two players — senior Wesley Walls and freshman Jayce Fondren— back from injury last Friday as they defeated the BIC Mustangs 4-1.
The Tigers led 1-0 after the second inning and added two runs in the bottom of the fifth and another run in the bottom of the sixth.
The Mustangs lone run came in the top of the seventh inning.
The Tigers were led offensively by Quinn Crosskno (2-4 with an RBI), Madison Perez (1-3 with two RBIs), Tanner Davis (1-3 with a run scored), Walls (1-3 with two runs scored), Jaden Henderson (1-3), Paxton Brown (run scored) and Fondren (1-1 with a run scored and an RBI).
Crosskno pitched the complete game allowing one run on five hits. He struck out five Mustang batters.
Leading the Mustangs offensively was Kaleb Dublin (1-4), Gavin Gathright (1-3), Jameson Stone (1-2), Payton Ivy (run scored), Conner McCord (1-3) and Caleb Sutter (1-3).
Garthright pitched the complete game for the Mustangs as he allowed five runs, three earned, on seven hits. He fanned 12 Tiger batters.
Gosnell Pirates 11, Armorel Tigers 4
WEST MEMPHIS— The Gosnell Pirates jumped out to a 3-0 lead on the Armorel Tigers in the first inning and didn’t look back as they defeated the Tigers 11-4 in the West Memphis Tournament.
The Pirates led 3-0 after the first, but then the Tigers scored a run in the second inning to trail 3-1. GHS added two runs in the top of the third and the top of the fourth, while AHS scored a run in the bottom of the the third.
The Pirates led 7-2 before a four run fifth inning helped the Pirates lead 11-2. The Tigers tried to crawl back but only added two runs in the bottom of the sixth.

Fondren made his first start on the season for the Tigers after coming back from a dislocated knee cap during basketball season. He went four and a third innings pitched allowing 10 runs, five earned, on nine hits and one strike out. Perez came in relief going one and two-thirds inning allowing one run on three hits.
The Pirates were led offensively by Jace Wren ( 1-4 with a run scored and an RBI), Waylon Kuykendall ( 3-3 with three runs scored), Devin Jones ( 3-3 with three RBIs and two runs scored), Brayden Burcham ( 3-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs), Garrett Gentry ( 1-4 with two RBIs), Kyle Robinson ( 1-3 with a run scored), Coty Keene (run scored) and Aaron Parham ( two RBIs and a run scored).
Burcham picked up the victory pitching a complete game allowing four runs, two earned, on five hits and fanning seven Tiger batters.
The Tigers had three errors on the day and the Pirates had two errors.
