Walnut Ridge outslugged Manila 13-4 in high school softball action Tuesday at Lion Field.
The Lady Bobcats out-hit Manila 16-7. Four Walnut Ridge batters had 15 of the 16 Bobcat hits on the day.
The two teams were tied 2-2 going into the third inning before Walnut Ridge exploded for five runs to grab a 7-2 advantage. The Lady Bobcats tacked on three runs in the fifth and added three more in the sixth to go ahead 13-2.
Shyanne Foley was the winning pitcher for Walnut Ridge. Baylee Davis had a perfect 5-5 performance to go along with three RBI, leading the Bobcat hit parade. Katie Kersey went 4-5 with two RBI while Holly Berry and Chloe Davis both had three hits.
Kara Watts singled, doubled and drove in two while Ali Smith had two singles, an RBI and a run scored to lead Manila. Beth Rawson slapped an RBI single and scored a run while Grace Wilkins and Brailey Hampton both singled and scored a run apiece.
Olivia May went the distance and took the loss for the Lady Lions. May allowed 13 runs, but only three were earned. The freshman surrendered 16 hits, fanned four and walked none.
