Monday night, Blytheville assistant police chief Ricky Jefferson reported that lighting projects are continuing throughout the city.
The next two lighting projects will be from 6th and Highland to Division and Highland and from Highland and 10th to Moultrie.
Jefferson said in February, there were 167 cases generated and another 94 phone call generated cases, with 69 cases cleared during the month.
Code Enforcement sent 40 certified letters and issued 10 citations and 15 notices in February.
Meanwhile, Jefferson reported that Animal Control had 250 service calls last month, giving 40 warnings, writing five citations and making five trips to the landfill. Animal Control transferred two dogs and 15 puppies to Animal Rescue, adopted out two animals and fostered one.
Jefferson asked to seek bids for the installation of a full bathroom with a shower and emergency eyewash station at the shelter. Also, he said he will get a couple of estimates to repair the Animal Control truck, which was damaged on the driver’s side door when an elderly female backed into it recently. Jefferson also reported that the city changed lighting at the shelter to 400 watt LED.
