Manila roared past Gosnell 11-1 in high school baseball action Monday at Lion Field.

The Lions scored three runs in the second and added two-spots in the third and fourth innings before capping off the afternoon plating four more runs in the sixth. Manila out-hit the visitors 9-5.

Brock Birmingham led the way for Manila, banging out three hits and scoring three runs. Elijah Nichols slapped a pair of singles and drove in four runs. Abraham Lopez singled twice, had an RBI and scored two

runs. Layne Sims cracked a two-run single and scored twice while Ethan Navarro singled and scored two runs. Michael Parker had a pair of RBIs and scored a run, Hunter Vuletich added an RBI while Jake Baltimore scored once.

Navarro earned the win, pitching five 1/3 innings, giving up one earned run on four hits. The senior righthander fanned six and walked one. Abraham Lopez finished the day, going 2/3 of an inning, allowing just one hit.
