Blytheville police believe a relative may be involved in a shooting on West Ash that claimed the life of a Blytheville woman and injured a Blytheville man late Tuesday night.

According to Blytheville Police Chief Ross Thompson, 37-year-old Priscilla Aldridge perished from her injuries; 37-year-old Kelvin Thomas is in stable condition.

Chief Thompson said around 11: 45 p.m. Tuesday, officers of the Blytheville Police Department responded to the 1900 block of West Ash Street in reference to the shooting.

"On arrival they found 37-year-old Kelvin Thomas and 37-year-old Priscilla Aldridge, both of Blytheville, and both had been shot while in a residence on Ash Street," he said. "Both were transported to the Great River Medical Center in Blytheville. Aldridge died as a result of her injuries while Thomas was transported to another facility for further treatment and is in stable condition. At this time the department is actively looking for persons of interest in the case, one of whom is possibly related to Thomas."

Aldridge is the seventh homicide victim of 2019 in Blytheville and the second in the month of March.
