BROCKWELL— The Armorel Lady Tigers’ (2-24) season ended Wednesday night in the 1A-2 Regional tournament at ICC. The Lady Tigers were defeated, 61-23, by the top-ranked Norfork Lady Panthers.
The Lady Tigers kept the game close early as they trailed 15-13 after the first quarter but the Lady Panthers outscored the Lady Tigers by 21 points in the second quarter to lead 40-17 at the half.
Lady Panther guard Whitlee Layne, who is the daughter of BIC legend Chip Layne, scored 25 of her game-high 27 points in the first half.
NHS outscored AHS 21-6 in the second half to end the Lady Tigers season in the first round of regionals.
Senior forward Ayrielle Appleton finished with 12 points for the Lady Tigers and freshman guard Allison Carter added five points.
