Congressman Rick Crawford has a thought where the Amazon HQ2 could be located.

After the tech giant cancelled plans for putting the project in New York, Rep. Crawford wrote on Twitter that the Arkansas Aeroplex would be a great spot.

“@JeffBezos I’d like to suggest the former Eaker AFB near Blytheville, AR as your new location,” Crawford wrote Thursday. “Low energy costs, low cost of living, close proximity to FedEx in Memphis, multi mode transportation, a thriving steel industry, ASU’s back yard, and a ready and willing workforce.”

Blytheville Gosnell Regional Airport Authority president Barrett Harrison agrees, saying, “He is exactly right on all points and when you consider the following stats we would be a good location for anyone in the distribution business.”

Harrison pointed out the population in a 100 mile radius is 2,515,034; in a 200-mile radius is 11,207,916; a 500-mile radius is 94,035,196; and 1,000-mile radius is 242,414,785.

Blytheville City Councilman John Musgraves said, “That sounds great!”

Mississippi County Economic Developer Clif Chitwood thanked Crawford, saying he always looks after the economic interests of the First Congressional District of Arkansas.
