Officers of the Blytheville Police Department have made arrests in connection with a recent series of robberies and a shooting that resulted in the death of a Blytheville resident, according to Police Chief Ross Thompson.

Between Feb. 3-6, the Blytheville Police Department received two reports of robberies of pizza delivery drivers and two reports individuals being robbed. On February 6, the Blytheville Police Department began an investigation into the shooting death of 63-year-old Jerry Marshall of Blytheville, which is now considered a homicide.

On Monday, Feb. 11, 26-year-old Granville Murphy of Mississippi appeared in the Chickasawba District Court of Mississippi County where he was arraigned on one count of Murder in the 1st degree and one count of Aggravated Robbery. His bond was set at $100,000 cash.

Also on Monday, a 14-year-old juvenile of Blytheville appeared in the Chickasawba District Court of Mississippi County charged as an adult and was arraigned on one count of Murder in the 1st degree and two counts of Aggravated Robbery. A bond of $125,000.00 cash was set for the juvenile whose name is still being withheld pending any pre-trial juvenile hearings.
