Bay took advantage of a shorthanded Riverside squad and went on to post a 62-40 victory over the Rebels in 2A-3 conference play Friday night at Lake City. The Rebels took the court, minus five players, including three starters who were out due to illness.

The Yellowjackets opened an 18-7 lead after the first quarter and held a 32-14 halftime advantage. Bay led 48-25 after three periods of play.

Slade Grove led three Yellowjackets in double figures, posting a game high 14 points. Tyler Hartgen had 12 while Aaron Jolly pitched in 10 points. Bay made all three of their free throw attempts and drained

seven three pointers.

Trever Mangrum paced the Rebels with 11 points while Traven Weaver contributed 10. Brennen Laird and A.J. Chamness tallied eight points apiece while Gage Crews added three. The Rebels sank two of four foul shots and drilled eight treys.

In the junior high contest, Bay downed Riverside 35-15. Gunner Darby topped the Yellowjackets with 12 points while Tyler Fraley added 11.

Carl Gallapoo led Riverside with seven points. J.M. Shinall had four while Trae Barnes and Stanford Robinson chipped in two points each.

Riverside will celebrate Senior Night against Mammoth Spring in their final home contest of the year Friday night at Lake City.
