The Gosnell Lady Pirates defeated Armorel, Tuesday night, 39-33 in a game that was dominated by GHS senior Kaylee Miller.
GHS led 24-12 at the end of the first half and 30-18 at end of the third quarter but a late serge by the Lady Tigers in the fourth quarter made things interesting.
Miller finished the night with a game-high 22 points. Junior Alyncia Boyd added six points.
The Lady Tigers were led by Ayrielle Appleton and Mayson Carr with 11 points, a piece.
The Armorel Junior Lady Tigers turned the ball over over 30 times in the first quarter as the Gosnell Junior Lady Pirates coasted to a big win.
GJHS led 37-6 at the half after leading 15-4 at the end of the first quarter.
The Junior Lady Tigers were outscored 17-11 in the second half as GJHS cruised to a 54-17 victory.
TT Howard led the Junior Lady Pirates with a game-high 21 points.
Anna Simons and Holly Nixon led the Junior Lady Tigers with six points, apiece.
The Lady Pirates will travel to Manila Thursday night and the Lady Tigers will host the Maynard Lady Tigers Friday night on Senior Night.
The Gosnell Lady Pirates kept the game close and even led for brief periods of time but the host EPC Lady Warriors defeated GHS 49-40.
With senior center Kaylee Miller struggling with foul trouble throughout most of the night, she saw limited playing time though finished with a near double-double of nine points and over 10 rebounds.
Classmate Persia James led GHS with 11 points, including three three-pointers.
The Lady Warriors led 14-11 at the end of the first but jumped out to a 26-17 lead at the half after senior Lady Pirates guard Alexus Donnerson cut the lead to nine points at the buzzer with a three-pointer of her own.
The Lady Pirates won the third quarter by a point but in the fourth quarter would go one-for-nine down the stretch from the charity stripe.
GHS went 1-for-17 from the charity stripe in the game with the only free-throw coming late in the fourth quarter from Miller.
The Junior Lady Pirates were victorious earlier in the night by defeating the Junior Lady Warriors 46-29.
At the half only three points separated the two teams but GJHS outscored the Junior Lady Warriors 28-14 in the second half.
TT Howard led the lay for the Junior Lady Pirates with a game-high 25 points.
