Behind solid defense, the Blytheville Chickasaws easily defeated Pocahontas, 69-33, Tuesday night in a 4A-3 contest at Chickasaw Gym.
The Chicks (14-5, 9-3 4A-3) jumped out to a 19-5 lead in the first quarter, and the Redskins never threatened.
Blytheville stretched its lead in the second quarter by outscoring Pocahontas 22-12.
The Chicks opened the period with a 9-2 run capped by a steal and bucket from Lamont Jackson.
Blytheville led 41-17 at halftime, and the advantage swelled to 59-25 by the end of the third.
The 30-point sportsmanship rule was in effect the entire fourth quarter.
Winston Peace led Blytheville with 17 points, while Deveon Smith chipped in 10 and Tedrick Washington nine.
The Junior Chickasaws (6-6, 6-11) fell to the Junior Redskins 42-32 on Tuesday evening.
The Blytheville Lady Chicks trailed by two after the first quarter but a tough second quarter hurt the Lady Chicks. BHS tried to spring back into the game with a dominating third quarter but the deficit was too much and the Lady Chicks were defeated 47-38 by the Pocahontas Lady Redskins Monday night.
The Lady Redskins jumped out to a 9-7 lead in the first quarter but the Lady Chicks then were outscored by 12 points in the second quarter to trail 23-9 at the half.
BHS battled back by outscoring the Lady Redskins 19-10 in the third quarter to trail by five heading into the fourth quarter but were then outscored in the fourth quarter 14-10.
Alvindavia Lockett led the Lady Chicks with a game-high 18 points. Traveonna Mays added eight points.
The Lady Chicks will travel to Batesville Southside Friday night for another 4A-3 conference matchup.
