Blytheville sweeps Batesville Southside

The Blytheville Chickasaws had no problem defeating 4A-3 Conference opponent the Batesville Southside Southerners as head coach McKenzie Pierce was able to rest his key guys most of the final quarter in 63-31 blowout victory.

The Chicks (10-4, 5-2) led 13-6 after the first quarter and pulled away in the second quarter, leading the Southerners 30-16 at the half.

In the third quarter, BHS outscored Batesville SouthSide 27- 7 to lead 57-23 heading into the final quarter.

Senior forward Winston Peace led the Chicks with 17 points.

The Chickasaws will host the Valley View Blazers Tuesday at home.

The Blazers defeated the Chicks in their first matchup at Valley View, 55-45, on Dec. 18.

The Blytheville Lady Chickasaws defeated the Batesville SouthSide Lady Southerners Friday night 50-40.

The Lady Chicks trailed 20-19 at the half but led 35-34 heading into the final quarter.

BHS outscored the Lady Southerners 15-6 in the final quarter to defeat the Batesville SouthSide Lady Southerners 50-40.

Alvindavia Lockett led the way for the Lady Chicks with 18 points. Traveonna Mays added 15 points.

The Lady Chicks will host the Lady Blazers Monday night at home.

In junior high action, the Junior Chicks defeated the Junior Southerners 55-34 and the Junior Lady Southerners defeated the Junior Lady Chicks 49-8.
