GOSNELL — Gosnell recorded its second straight 30-plus point win Friday night when it cruised past Piggott, 84-52.
The Pirates (10-6, 7-3 3A-3) jumped out to a 12-3 lead early in the game and led 22-12 going into the second quarter.
Gosnell got hot from behind the arc, knocking down four three-pointers in the second quarter.
Brayden Burcham drilled three treys in the period, scoring 11 of Gosnell’s 21 points in the quarter. Burcham scored all of his 15 points in the first half, and the Pirates led 43-30 at halftime.
Gosnell extended its lead to 16 early in the third quarter on a three-pointer from Coty Keene, who had 15 points.
The Pirates enjoyed a 57-42 advantage going into the fourth quarter.
The Pirates pulled away in the fourth quarter, outscoring Piggott 27-10.
Jaquon Partee led Gosnell with 16 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals.
The Pirates had four players score at least 15 points — Partee, Keene, Burcham and Jydarian Young (15).
Jordan Lewis added 10 points, Cadarius Young seven and Brett Barbaree six in the win. Lewis took six charges, dished four assists and grabbed four rebounds in the game. Barbaree also grabbed nine rebounds.
Trey Gossett scored a game-high 17 for Piggott (1-17, 1-10 3A-3), while Braden Ralph added 16.
Gosnell also won the junior high game, 45-34. Travelle Anderson led the Junior Pirates with 27 points, while TJ Reed added 11 points.
Meanwhile, the Gosnell Lady Pirates fell to Piggott, 38-32, at Piggott on Thursday night.
