Connor Jackson of Manila has had a very successful four weeks competing in three half marathons (13.1 miles) in three states, Arkansas, Tennessee and Florida.

He ran the White River 1/2 marathon in Cotter, Ark., on Nov. 17, finishing with a personal best 1 hour, 16 minutes to take the overall champion crown. In perspective, that finishing time correlates to an average pace of 5 minutes, 48 seconds per mile.

Two weeks later on Dec. 1, he tackled the 1/2 marathon course in Memphis at the St. Jude 1/2 Marathon Weekend, finishing the course in 1 hour, 21 minutes, good enough to take 12th place out of over 10,000 runners.

One short week later on Dec. 9, he competed in the Florida West Coast 1/2 marathon in Sarasota, Fla., finishing the course in 1 hour, 23 minutes to take the overall champion crown.

When asked what was next on his calendar, his one word answer was “rest,” that is until training starts for indoor track and field season in a few weeks.
