The Gosnell Pirates (3-0) defeated the Riverside Rebels 59-29 Monday night in the opening round of the Gerald Jennings Tournament being hosted by the Marked Tree Indians. On Friday, the Pirates defeated 3A-3 Conference foe the Piggott Mohawks, 69-32. The Pirates led 46-19 at the half and went on to outscore the Mohawks by 10 points in the second half to defeat the Mohwaks 69-32. GHS had three players in double figures with sophomore Brayden Burcham leading the way with 13 points and three steals. Senior Fred Debose and junior Jordan Lewis added 10 points apiece.

Lady Bobcats 47, Lady Pirates 33

The Gosnell Lady Pirates are still searching for their first victory on the young season after starting out 0-6 overall and 0-3 in conference. Monday night, the Lady Pirates were defeated by 3A-3 Conference foe the Walnut Ridge Lady Bobcats, 47-33, on the road.

GHS trailed 24-13 at the half after trailing 13-10 after the first quarter. The Lady Bobcats outscored the Lady Pirates 26-20 in the second half. The Lady Pirates were led by senior center Kaylee Miller with 15 points. Classmate Destiny Smith-Batchelor chipped in seven points.

The Lady Pirates will travel to Rivercrest Thursday night. Meanwhile, the Gosnell Junior Lady Pirates defeated the Walnut Junior Lady Bobcats 49-16 Monday night. The Junior Lady Pirates were led by TT Howard’s game-high 19 points. Shamya Anderson chipped in 10 points.

PHS 46, Lady Pirates 33

The Gosnell Lady Pirates were defeated 46-33 Thursday night in their home 3A-3 conference matchup against the Piggott Lady Mohawks.

The Lady Mohawks jumped out to a 28-8 lead in the first half; however, the Lady Pirates came back and won the second half 25-18.

The Lady Pirates were led by senior Kaylee Miller with 14 points. Alyssa Griffin added eight points.
