Dawson Stewart buried back to back treys in the fourth quarter to help Buffalo Island Central hold off Riverside 31-26 in the junior boys championship game of the Marmaduke Invitational Tournament Thursday night at Greyhound Gymnasium.

Stewart finished with nine points, all coming from beyond the three-point arc. Trae Barnes paced the Rebels with 10 points.

BIC advanced to the finals by drubbing Armorel 49-18 Wednesday night. Caden Whitehead topped the Mustangs with 12 points, 11 rebounds and eight blocks. Parker Anderson chipped in 10 points.

Riverside earned its berth in the finals by knocking off host Marmaduke 42-37 in overtime Wednesday night. John Marcus Shinall poured in 20 points and grabbed nine boards to lead the Rebels. Barnes chipped in 10.

In the girls championship game, Marmaduke remained unbeaten with a 41-29 victory over Riverside. The Lady Greyhounds held a 20-16 edge at the half before outscoring Riverside 17-7 in the third quarter to increase their advantage to 37-23 entering the final frame.

Tori Sutherland led Marmaduke with 14 points while Baylie Joiner added 13 more. Hannah Gosa topped the Lady Rebels with 11 points.

Riverside reached the finals with 47-31 victory over Bay in Tuesday night’s semifinal play. Gracie Washington pumped in 10 points to lead the Lady Rebels.
