Arvest Bank hosted an open house event in Monette on Oct. 8 for current and prospective customers to learn more about the bank’s products and services. As part of the open house, Arvest associates presented a donation to Judy Birdo, executive director of local nonprofit organization Secondhand Serenity, for $1,000.

Secondhand Serenity supports local children and families who need assistance in various ways. The organization’s annual Hope for the Holidays toy drive helps provide specific toys or gifts for children at Christmas. Secondhand Serenity also provides fruit baskets to the elderly and occasionally can assist with the cost of utility bills.

“In a short period of time, Secondhand Serenity has made a positive impact on numerous people in this community and we are proud to be able to support them in their mission,” said Jim Cargill, president and CEO of Arvest Bank in northeast, central and southwest Arkansas.

The event also included food from Big Butts Catering who grilled on site. The open house comes two weeks after the conversion of Bear State Bank was completed on Sept. 24.

“Our customers now have access to even more options than they did previously, and that’s exciting,” said Cargill. “We are very much looking forward to sharing information about our products and services with the Monette community.”
