Shirley Ann Scoggins Mann
Shirley Ann Mann, 60, arrived at her heavenly home on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018, from the Manila Nursing Home. She was greeted by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Clarence Scoggins and J.D. and Glendola Minyard.
Born and raised in Manila, after high school Shirley continued her education. She began her career in accounting with Montgomery Ward and later was blessed with the opportunity to be the bookkeeper for Hubbard & Hoke in Blytheville for many years. Shirley was an active member of Soul’s Harbor Church in Manila where she taught Sunday school for several years. If you knew her for even a second you knew she was the most caring and loving woman you could ever meet. Shirley loved nothing more than to have a houseful of family and friends. She never met a stranger and had a heart of gold. She loved and cared about everyone she met and would give you her last dollar if she thought you needed it more or her last bit of food if she thought you were hungry. She was an avid reader and loved to crochet.
She leaves behind two daughters, Jennifer Smith of El Dorado, Kan., and Kathleen Smith of Largo, Fla.; two sisters, Donnie Titsworth (Charles) of Russellville and Glenda Troxel (Tim) of Alpine; three brothers, Jackie (Julie) Eddings and Paul (Sherry) Scoggins, both of Manila, and Rickie (Vonda) Scoggins of Leachville; two grandchildren, Skyler Shirley of Manila and Jonathan Smith of El Dorado, Kan., along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Shirley’s memorial was 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, at Soul's Harbor Church located at 202 Concord Street in Manila with Pastor David Fair officiating.
