Delta Gateway Museum in downtown Blytheville opened a new exhibit recently called Eat Well, Play Well. The traveling STEM exhibit comes from the Discovery Network, a program of the Museum of Discovery in Little Rock, and is sponsored locally by Mississippi County Arkansas EOC Head Start.

Eat Well, Play Well is geared towards helping children and their parents choose healthy foods and exercise. How much force do you have to exert to burn off a snack? Which burns more calories: raking leaves or mowing the lawn? Explore the science behind nutrition, fitness, and the food we eat with this highly interactive bilingual children's exhibit that encourages healthy living by teaching the science of healthy food and lifestyle choices.

STEM educational activities emphasize improving skills and knowledge in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics through focused play and guided activities. Museums across the country are participating in STEM programs to help prepare students for challenging career choices.

Delta Gateway Museum in downtown Blytheville has on display now thru Aug. 25 “The Great War: Arkansas in World War I" from the Arkansas State Archives.
