The following are reports from the Blytheville Police Department. — Police took a theft report (riffle) in the 1200 block of Chickasawba. — Officers investigated a domestic battery in the 1100 block of Leawood. A woman told police that her boyfriend “punched her in her face with a closed fist, bit her on the head and held his hand over her face and mouth trying to keep her from yelling for help.” She bit his hand and escaped, the report said...

Friday, August 10

— Police took a theft report (riffle) in the 1200 block of Chickasawba.

Saturday, August 11

— Officers investigated a domestic battery in the 1100 block of Leawood. A woman told police that her boyfriend “punched her in her face with a closed fist, bit her on the head and held his hand over her face and mouth trying to keep her from yelling for help.” She bit his hand and escaped, the report said.

— Officers cited Jennifer Abbott on shoplifting charges at Walmart.

— Police took a theft report (two flats of lighters valued at $250) at Love’s on South Division.

— Police investigated a series of breaking or entering to vehicle reports in the 1100 block of Logan, 1100 block of Normandy, 1100 block of Ohio, and 1100 block of Ward. Missing from the six vehicles were two wallets, a phone, a bag with clothes, diapers and wipes. Also missing were two necklaces and a computer tablet.

Sunday, August 12

— Police investigated a domestic battery in the 400 block of North 21st.

— Police investigated a reported shooting in the 1300 block of West Ash. The victim told police that the offender shot at his car. “The victim stated he was parked in front of the residence when a black male began shooting at him,” the report said. “(The man) stated that he did not know who was shooting at him but he put his car in reverse. The victim backed over a curb impacting a fence and shrubs.” The victim then drove the car forward, got out and ran in the residence. A witness said she saw someone come from the side of the house shooting at the car, noting the suspect had on a white shirt and blue shorts. “We collected a spent 9mm shell casing located in the center of the roadway just west of the vehicle,” the report said. “A statement form was completed by the witness and is included with this report. (The victim) became uncooperative and stated he would fill out a report once he knew had shot at him. Estimated damage to the fence and shrubs is $800. The fence and shrubs belonged to the Catholic Church located at 1208 West Main. Vehicle damage is estimated at $600.00. We were unable to locate any bullet holes in the vehicle.”

— Police investigated an aggravated assault in the 100 block of East McHaney. The victim said the offender pointed a gun at her.

— Officers took a theft report (sheet metal) at Eastside Church of Christ on North Ruddle. According to the report, a metal awning at the church had been knocked down sometime in the past week. Sometime between 12-4 p.m. Sunday, someone stole the metal. “The metal was well into the church yard and should not have been mistaken for trash,” the report said.

— Police arrested James Carmichael, 40, on three failure to appear warrants and charges of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine and marijuana), possession of drug paraphernalia, fictitious tags and obstructing governmental operations during at traffic stop at Henderson and 10th.

Monday, August 13

— Police took a breaking or entering report at Hampton Inn on the North Service Road. Jewelry valued at $10,000, photographs and beach items were reported missing. “I observed the back glass of a silver BMW to be shattered,” the report said. “It appeared someone had made entry into the vehicle to go through luggage that was in the back portion of the vehicle.”

— Officers took a criminal trespassing report in the 800 bock of East Main.

— Police investigated a domestic assault in the 1700 block of West Walnut. The victim said her intoxicated husband slammed her on the bed, grabbed her wrists pinning her down, and placed his hand over her mouth. “During the assault she described that he hit her in the face with his hand,” the report said.

— Police took a harassment report in the 300 block of Tennessee.

— Officers took a theft report at Hays Grocer on West Moultrie. The offender stole an electric shopping cart valued at $1,375.

— Police investigated a burglary in the 1000 block of Broadmoor. Several firearms were reported missing.

— Police arrested Laquincy Nance, 22, on charges of fleeing on foot in the 100 block of Kentucky.

— Officers took a harassment report in the 1000 block of East Moultrie.
