The following are reports from the Blytheville Police Department.
— Police took a theft report (bicycle) in the 1700 block of West Sycamore.
— Police arrested Bobby Cherry, 34, on charges of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance and obstructing governmental operations in the 300 block of North Hollywood.
— Police arrested Jasper Perry, 29, on charges of possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) and failure to appear in the 1500 block of East Main.
— Police took a report of a dog bite in the 400 block of East Walnut. The victim told police that she was walking by the Mississippi County Union Mission and saw a pack of stray dogs. “She advised she typically feeds the dogs treats she gets from Hays when she has the extra money,” the report said. “She stated she threw one dog (brown, black, and white boxer mix) a treat, then reached down to give it another when the dog bit her right index finger. (The woman’s) wound was at the nail bed of her finger and was bitten fairly deep. I attempted to locate the dogs after talking to (the victim), but was unable to do so.”
— Police took a criminal mischief report in the 800 block of North Second. The passenger tires were flattened on two vehicles.
— Officers investigated an attempted robbery in the 400 block of South First. The victim said three men wearing all black with black masks came into the residence and grabbed her. “All three offenders were stating ‘give it to me, where is it at,’” the report said. The victim said a second victim got upset and began to intervene. She stated one of the three offenders struck the man in the face with a glass bottle, breaking it on his face. “The three offenders left the scene after striking (the man) with the bottle,” the report said. “I noticed (the man) had a shirt on covering his face. I advised him to remove the shirt so I could see what how bad his injuries are. (He) removed his shirt from his face and I noticed a large laceration to his face from the seam of his lips to around two inches back that had been split completely open. Pafford was contacted and arrived on scene. Glass pieces of the bottle were collected.”
— Officers arrested Sabrina Taylor, 49, on charges of criminal trespassing and refusal to submit to arrest in the 100 block of East Sycamore. “As I grabbed her arm (to arrest Taylor), she fell to the floor saying that she was having chest pain,” the report said. “After handcuffing her, Mary Ann Wells could be heard outside saying that Taylor was faking sick again to get out of going to jail. Taylor told her to shut up. Taylor, who was obviously intoxicated, was carried to the patrol unit because she refused to walk on her own. Once in the car, we had to sit her up straight because she would not help herself. Officer Caruthers then transported her to the Mississippi County Sheriff's Office. While en route there, Officer Caruthers had to stop the car because Taylor was trying to kick the window out of his car. Sergeant St. Laurent responded to his location. Her legs were shackled and she was transported. Once at the Sheriff's Office Taylor refused to get out of the car, then went dead weight and had to be pulled from the vehicle and wheeled into the jail in a wheel chair.”
— Police investigated a domestic assault in the 1600 block of West Main. The report said the offender head-butted the victim’s face, causing her nose to bleed.
— Officers took a theft report (debit card and phone) in the 100 block of East Rose.
— Police took a theft report (copper wire) in the 100 block of East Rose.
— Officers investigated a burglary in the 1100 block of Willow. Missing were earrings, a cell phone, laptop, two televisions, and two gaming systems.
— Police took a theft report (phone) at AT&T on East Main.
— Officers took a theft report (camera) in the 800 block of Clearlake.
— Police investigated a domestic battery and criminal mischief report in the 100 block of Plaza.
— Police cited Loretta King on shoplifting charges at Hays Grocer in the 600 block of West Moultrie.
— Police investigated a battery report in the 3700 block of Kacey Lane. The victim told police that four people came into her home and beat her up. The woman said the group claimed that the victim had some of their things. The victim had scratches and a small cut on her left arm, as well as bruising and cuts on her nose and right eyebrow. She did not want medical attention.
— Police took a theft report (water heater and shower enclosure) in the 100 block of Cleveland.
— Police investigated an assault in the 400 block of West Moultrie.
— Officers arrested Jennifer Huffman, 30, on domestic battery charges in the 100 block of Wingate. The victim told police that his wife “flipped out,” and police noticed a bite mark on the inner side of his upper right arm. He refused to provide a statement. “Jennifer repeatedly stated that it was her fault and that she had ‘done it,’” the report said. “Jennifer also stated that no else was involved...It should be noted that December of last year, officers had arrested Jennifer for similar charges. Alcohol was a factor regarding this incident.”
— Police took a criminal mischief report at Dawson Welding in the 600 block of East Sawyer. Vandals used a rock to break the glass of the northwest corner window that faces the street.
