The first “Pedestrian Day” was held Saturday at Walker Park. The Blytheville Police Department was on hand in support of "Pedestrian Day" in the park. Officers directed vehicle traffic from the park that day so walkers, joggers or bicyclist could enjoy the park without the worry of cars, trucks, motorcycles, mopeds or any other motorized vehicle. Parking areas were available that didn’t interfere with the flow of pedestrians. According to BPD assistant police chief Ricky Jefferson, the city will hold more “Pedestrian Days” in the future.
