At approximately 5 p.m. Monday night, a power outage occurred that affected a large portion of Blytheville residents.

The outage occurred due to the breaking of an electric pole believed to be cause by storm damage. The power was restored to a large portion of the area at approximately 9 p.m. Monday.

“I was assuming it was from storms that came through, but I don’t have that confirmed,” Entergy customer service representative Matt Faries said.

At the time of interview, Faries stated that some customers near Ruddle road may still be experiencing an outage, however, they were projected to be repaired by Tuesday afternoon.

Faries stated that he believed only one electric pole had been damaged somewhere on Ruddle Road.

During the initial outage parts of Division, Moultrie, 10th and 6th street were among those in the areas of affect. Some businesses were affected by the outage.

On Tuesday, Blytheville High School experienced a partial outage, though neither Entergy nor Blytheville administration could confirm the extent of the disruption in service or cause.
